Why stay home this weekend? Come out and enjoy the beautiful breezy weather in Miami by participating in the 2010 Miami Kidney Walk. This annual walk is the National Kidney Foundation’s best fundraising event, with more than 2,000 walkers raising over $158,000 in 2009. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, March 7th, at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10:00 a.m. All interested walkers can either start a team or walk as an individual. Thanks to the money raised through the walks, NKF is able to offer free health screenings for kidney disease, public and professional education programs, advocacy to make patients' voices heard through legislative action and a vital research program to identify new clinical treatments.
