Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew"

The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1590 and 1594. Shakespeare Miami brings this comedy to life with their upcoming performances at the Barnacle State Park (3485 Main Highway, Coconut Grove) starting January 15th through 17th at 7:30 p.m. The play depicts the courtship of Petruchio and Katherina who is the headstrong shrew. Initially, Katherina is not interested in the relationship, but Petruchio tempers her with various psychological torments – the "taming" – until she is an obedient bride. Shakespeare Miami produces these FREE "Shakespeare in the Park" events to encourage families to gather a picnic, spread their blankets under the stars and experience a live literary performance.
